For those of us who have worked on the POW/MIA issue with the National League for these many decades, this is the reward. We do not give ourselves honors or plaques. Our reward is watching the flag-draped casket of a returned veteran coming home to US soil. We share in the bittersweet moment of elation and grief, wishing that this homecoming could have happened 40-50 years ago. We honor the men and women who sacrifice for us to bring their brothers home.
