About Help Bring Them Home: During a December 2012 board meeting, the Board of Directors unanimously passed a motion showing support to the group, Help Bring Them Home, and their petition drive for 2013.
HBTH is a newly formed organization with several activities that the League is supporting. Their main goals are:
To provide responsible awareness and education about the POW/MIA issue.
Press the United States Government to provide the fullest possible accounting of missing U.S. Service members.
Press the United States Government to fully fund the Joint Prisoners of War, Missing in Action Accounting Command (JPAC) and Defense Prisoner of War Missing Personnel Office (DPMO).
Assure families of our Missing and Unaccounted For (POW/MIA) that a Grateful Nation has NOT FORGOTTEN their loved one.
In conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the return of Vietnam War POWs and in an effort to show renewed commitment to the mission of achieving the fullest possible accounting of those initially listed as POW and MIA, and to help raise responsible public awareness on the issue, a Petition has been created to show our government that we are determined to achieve the fullest possible accounting of our unreturned veterans (POW/MIA). This Petition will be delivered to our government officials on behalf of the American public and the National League of POW/MIA Families.
Help Bring Them Home is requesting your help in their efforts to secure 83,000 or more signatures (representing the more than 83,000 U.S. personnel listed as Missing In Action or Killed In Action/Body Not Recovered from World War II to present). Please consider distributing this Petition to your membership in order to help us achieve this goal.
All Petitions (originals only – no scanned or photocopied signatures) must be received by June 1, 2013. Please also include the name of your organization and contact information. Please deliver to:
